National Trust Insurance Policy

Insurance for the National Trust of South Australia (NTSA) is arranged as a single, organisation-wide policy rather than separate policies for each branch. This means the total premium is calculated based on NTSA’s overall risk profile, activities, assets, and coverage requirements across the entire organisation.

Even where a single sites’ information has remained largely unchanged from one year to the next, a branches’ share of the total premium may still move, reflecting changes in activity, asset values, or exposure across the organisation.

Branch invoices are determined by allocating a proportion of that total cost to each branch. This allocation reflects each branch’s relative level of activity and risk—such as the scale of operations, number of volunteers, public access, and use of sites or facilities. In this way, each branch contributes a fair share toward the overall insurance cost, rather than paying for a standalone policy.

Please note that the insurance policy is active from 1 April to 31 March each year. We being reviewing data in November to make an application in January.

Certificates of Currency are not issued to branches until invoice has been paid.
